The NAFL's Fort Worth Jaguars announced the signing of two more players: Center Nick VanPatten and Defenseman Sebastian Romanowski.
The Jaguars today announce two more player signings: Nick VanPatten and Sebastian Romanowski.
VanPatten is a center who has captained many North Texas Floorball Association (NTFA) league teams and has also participated in many NTFA tournament teams, including the 2019 National Championship team. In addition to his efforts on the rink, VanPatten serves as one of the youth program coaches. He and his family reside in Flower Mound, Texas, where he runs a twice-weekly pickup session at the local Community Activity Center. In 2019, he was one of the coaches for the NTFA team at the US National Championships in Lynchburg, Virginia. That youth team won the national championship and featured his two sons, Ethan and Landon. Nick is a Plant Manager for a local manufacturer in the DFW area.
Romanowski played in his native Poland with various club teams, appearing once with the Polish National Team. When he graduated from college in 2013 he moved to Chicago and joined Chicago Floorball. Playing with them, he won the Midwest Floorball Championship in Tomah, WI. In 2016 he moved to California and played for teams from Colorado and Texas in major US tournaments such as the Golden Gate Cup, the Texas Open, and the US National Championships, finishing second twice. He returned to Chicago in 2018 and joined the Chicago Dogs and has medaled with them in every national tournament since. With such a diverse resume, his passion for the game and desire to win are well-known around the US.
We're excited to have both these men join the club!
What's next? We have had two coaching interviews and have two more scheduled. We will announce a coach very soon. That coach will then start working to identify the European-based players that will be invited to join the team. We're excited about our coaching prospects!
Beyond that, we have expanded the swag available in the team store to include golf shirts, bags, and hats. This is the best way to show support for our team, as it's currently our only source of funding. However, we are working with our marketing team to identify sponsorship opportunities in the DFW area and hope to start featuring and highlighting our sponsors in the near future.
Finally, we are actively looking for a venue! We have a number of possibilities identified and we hope to have the announcement very soon on the home of the Jaguars! Since the league has released the schedule, you will be able to join us in Fort Worth for our regular season weekend on July 2-4, and the Troy Cup Finals on July 17-18.
Let's go Jaguars!
