The Fort Worth Jaguars of the NAFL named their first Head Coach, Joel Ekroos, of Helsinki, Finland. Joel is the Head Coach of the Westend Indians' U21 Team.
The Jaguars today announced their first Head Coach, Joel Ekroos. Ekroos is currently the head coach of the Westend Indians U21 A-Boys team in the Finnish F-League, the top league in Finland. Ekroos guided his club to a Division 1 championship in their previous campaign, which resulted in their promotion to the top division at their age group. Prior to his coaching work with Westend, he has played in the German Bundesliga as a player/coach for a season, and previously spent six years with the Indians. The last two years of his time with the Indians were at the top division (F-league).
Ekroos becomes the first coach named in the NAFL and begins with a roster of 9 US-based players (two yet to be announced). He plans to begin recruiting immediately from the large pool of European talent already signed up on the NAFL player interest page. He can be contacted at jekroos@ftwjaguars.com.
